WiBA is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. This privacy policy sets out the basis on which any personal information we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal information and how we will treat it. For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act), the data controller is Women in Business Association. Women in Business Association is an independent not-for-profit membership organisation and we are not affiliated with any other organisations or networks.


Information we collect from you

We will collect and process information about you that you give us by filling in forms on our site (our site) or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. This includes information you provide if you register to use our site, subscribe to our service, book onto or attend our events and if you report a problem with our site. The information you give us may include your name, employer/business name, job title, e-mail address and phone number.


What we do with the information

We use information held about you in the following ways:

  • To contact you in the future (including via email) to invite you to WiBA events and WiBA-sponsored events

  • To provide you with information about becoming a WiBA member and registering you as a WiBA member

  • To provide you with information about us and topics that we feel may be of interest to you

  • For internal record keeping

  • To notify you about changes to WiBA and our services

  • To help us organise relevant events for our members and guests

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online, for example personal information can only be accessed by members of the WiBA Committee and the WiBA Administrator.

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

We use Eventbrite to take event bookings and process event payments. Through Eventbrite we have access to your booking information, including name, email address, organisation and job title. We do not have access to your payment information processed via Eventbrite.

We may use Eventbrite to contact you regarding the event you have booked onto.
