Is 2020 the year you seek a non- executive or trustee opportunity? What’s involved?

  • Anthony Collins 134 Edmund Street, Birmingham B3 2ES United Kingdom (map)

Developing our careers or personal skills can take many forms. One area to consider is non- executive or trustee roles. Do you know what’s involved? Who is eligible? Where to find such opportunities? What skills might you need? What sort of commitment is required?

Our two speakers have considerable non-executive experience in a range of sectors and will share their ideas on key areas of consideration. Board diversity is a vital part of organisational success, bringing independent thought to critical friend/assurance roles to develop organisations. Evidence shows this improves such organisations’ standing.

Clive Bawden, President of Birmingham and West Midlands Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Director of Looking after Business and Board Secure alongside non-executive director roles in sport and music sectors will explain areas that matter to the role, the individual and organisation.

Janette Rawlinson, Experienced non-executive director in the NHS (since 2006), board/committee roles within health research and principal consultant at Just Real Solutions has undertaken a range of such roles and helped organisations across sectors with board development. She will offer practical suggestions based on her experience.
