Join WiBA for our popular Christmas Quiz and Dinner which will be held at Hilton Garden Inn Brindley Place on Tuesday 25th November 2025. Booking coming soon!
Join WiBA members and guests for our now annual tradition of a gentle stroll around Birmingham and soak up the early evening atmosphere, sights and sounds (and hopefully some sun – but sadly we can’t guarantee that!) whilst talking and 'net-walking' together.
We will meet in the ground floor foyer of the Offices of Anthony Collins Solicitors, 134 Edmund Street, Birmingham, B3 2ES, ready to start our walk at 6pm.
Net-Walking is a great way to fit in some light exercise at your own pace whilst chatting with likeminded women in business to share your news and build relationships with business contacts and friends old and new. On return to the starting point, those who wish to do so will head for a drink at a local venue to continue the chatting.
This event is open to members and guests and is free to attend (subject only to the cost of your drink purchase) although we do ask attendees to sign up in advance so we know who to look out for on the evening and whether we are all present to head off together! We will also ask for contact details to be provided just in case there are any changes on the evening – or to let you know which direction we have headed if you are running late! We recommend wearing comfortable shoes as we are likely to walk along the canal paths as well as normal pavements to make the most of Birmingham!
To join what promises to be a friendly and fun take on our usual networking, please book via Eventbrite here or go to www.eventbrite.co.uk and search for “WiBA”.
WiBA invites you to join us for a fabulous evening of dance at Elmhurst Ballet School, associate school of Birmingham Royal Ballet based in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
This elegant event will begin with a music and canapé reception from 6pm, followed by a special performance of the school’s Voices and Virtues summer showcase, celebrating the bold voices of the next generation of dance creatives, while honouring the technical mastery of classical dance. A selection of delicious canapés will be served, curated and prepared by the award-winning Edgbaston restaurant, Chapter.
Having celebrated its 100th birthday in 2023 and the 20-year anniversary of its move from Surrey to Birmingham in 2024, Elmhurst’s philosophy is that talent is classless. Thanks to Government scholarships and the generosity of donors and supporters, the school ensures that talented young people from all backgrounds are able to access its world class dance training and education with over 80% of its students receiving financial assistance towards fees.
We are delighted to offer this exciting event at £27 for members and £31.50 for guests. This includes complimentary drinks and canapés at the pre-show reception. Places are limited for this event so early booking is recommended. Please note that smart dress is requested for this event.
Book here or go to www.eventbrite.co.uk and search for “WiBA”. If you need any assistance with the booking process please contact Maureen on enquiries@wiba.co.uk
Optional add on – post performance Fundraising Gala
Following the performance, Elmhurst will be hosting a black-tie Gala evening for donors and supporters which includes a seasonal two-course dinner curated and prepared by Chapter, with carriages at 10.30pm. This post-performance gala is a ticketed fundraising event, with all proceeds supporting the school’s charitable access and participation initiatives, including mentoring, student support, and outreach projects in the Birmingham area. Tickets are available for the Gala evening for £130 per person, or at a discounted rate of £110 per person if booked in a group of 10.
If you would like to upgrade your ticket and join us for this glamorous and delectable evening, please contact us on enquiries@wiba.co.uk
Have you ever considered becoming a Charity Trustee? It’s an area many overlook that can help develop our careers, personal and professional skills and experience in different areas.
Being a Charity Trustee is something which undoubtedly helps on a CV and can impress prospective employers. It can also be extremely fulfilling personally and open training, development and interaction opportunities whilst contributing to good causes. Diverse trustee experiences help charities, community groups and public bodies strengthen their governance with such critical friend/assurance roles.
When considering whether to apply to become a charity trustee, most people have questions which typically relate to what is involved, expected time commitment and what is required of you.
On Thursday June 19 2025 WIBA will hold a Charity Coffee morning at the offices of Irwin Mitchell LLP where you will be able to speak to a Trustee, a volunteer and the Manager of Home-Start Central and Southwest (BCSW) and ask questions about the charity itself and becoming a Charity Trustee, over coffee (or tea) and cake. Several WIBA members have held such roles and will be happy to share their experiences informally during the networking.
Home-Start BSCSW aims to ensure that every parent with a child under the age of 5 has the support they need to give their children the best possible start in life. They work with vulnerable and disadvantaged families and can provide 1-1 volunteer support, Nurture Groups, targeted support, and hardship support.
We hope this event will be informative and enlightening with our familiar networking opportunity with WIBA members and guests in pleasant and modern surroundings. This event costs £10 for guests and £7.50 for members, with the surplus (after event costs) to be donated to Home-Start to support their great work. A raffle will be held at the event. Places are limited so please book here.
Alternatively go to www.eventbrite.co.uk and search for “WiBA”. If you need any assistance with the booking process please contact Maureen on enquiries@wiba.co.uk
