WiBA is delighted to welcome you to our annual Women of Distinction Lunch with guest speaker, Louise Bennett OBE at award winning Asha’s Restaurant. Every year we celebrate the achievements of women of distinction who have reached the top of their career and hear their personal reflections of their journey to career success to inspire us, whatever our working life stage.

Louise’s distinguished career has spanned private and public sectors including the NHS and retail before joining Birmingham Chamber of Commerce then Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber where she has been Chief Executive since 2003. Awarded an OBE in 2007 for services to enterprise, she was appointed High Sheriff of the West Midlands in 2021, focusing on the importance of leadership in business and the community and opportunities for young people, with an emphasis on those in the care system.

Working in Coventry with its UK Capital of Culture 2021 status and focus on diversity, using the voice of young people and international engagement, her experience as a crucial business support organisation may offer insight on how to maximise such opportunities for social, economic and cultural benefit for the immediate and wider areas.

Louise holds a 1st class honours degree and Masters in Business, is a qualified HR practitioner and qualified psychotherapist. Until 2014, she served for 5 years as a volunteer counsellor dealing with issues including bereavement, grief and trauma. Her strong commitment to young people includes serving as a school governor, on college and university boards and approved foster carer.

Our lunch will be in the private dining area of internationally acclaimed, award-winning Asha’s restaurant with a drink on arrival and one with our two-course lunch.
